今週の火曜日(9月3日)にCPUCが、カリフォルニア州に於けるエネルギー（電力）貯蔵に関する提案を公にした。(CPUC : California Public Utilities Commission)
75ページの提案で、主な主旨は下記の通り。まだ「提案」であるが、大きな一歩かと思う。
This decision establishes a target of 1,325 megawatts of energy storage to be procured by Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Southern California Edison Company and San Diego Gas & Electric Company by 2020 and sets a schedule for solicitation of energy storage. The decision directs these utilities to file separate applications containing a proposal for their first energy storage solicitation by January 1, 2014.
カリフォルニア州には何十もの電力会社(utilities)があるが、その中で特に規模の大きい3社が、2020年末までに1.3 GWのエネルギー貯蔵を行うというものである。
提案の中にある目標値の表を下記にコピーする。
表で分かる様に、エネルギー貯蔵は「Transmission(送電網)」「Distribution(配電網)」「Customer(顧客)」の３つのレベルでそれぞれ行い、電力供給の安定化を図る。
今後、再生可能エネルギーによる発電がふえるにつれ、いままで以上に下記が求められている。
